Oversized Sweater + Black Over-the-Knee Boots

Orange Oversized Sweater Black Over-the-Knee Boots (1)These over-the-knee boots… LOVE! Every year, I go looking for the perfect pair of boots within my budget and end up settling for something that’s just “okay”. So glad I stopped in Payless and found these babies! As a mom who’s strutting around with a stroller most of the time, I’ve gotta have a comfy heel. The block heel height and style on these over-the-knee boots are just right! The shaft perfectly suits my hefty calves (I’ve put on a few) so if you’ve got larger calves, check these out! Needless to say, I’ve also ordered them in cognac. 😉Orange Oversized Sweater Black Over-the-Knee Boots Coatorange-oversized-sweater-black-over-the-knee-boots-2orange-oversized-sweater-black-over-the-knee-boots-5-1 Once upon a time, my winter wardrobe consisted of nothing but earth tones. A good 90% of my sweaters and turtlenecks were either cream, beige or tan… ohhh, how I love tan!

When I opened up my storage box of winter tops one day (after not opening it for over a year) to find a sea of neutrals staring back at me, I knew I had a problem. The really sad part is I had so many repeats of similar items.

I’m pretty sure working at The Gap in my early twenties contributed to this.

Thankfully, I got my act together and began incorporating more color into my life. Of course, I still have my old faithful neutrals, but since about my mid-twenties, I’ve ventured out into the world of vibrant hues during the winter months.

I bought this beautiful orange sweater back in 2014 to camouflage my growing pregnant belly until it was time for the big reveal. It worked. No one noticed a thing! Thanks to the larger cut, I could still get my size and would be able to wear it way after giving birth. One of the best purchases I’ve made!

I look forward to incorporating more color into my wardrobe throughout this winter season!
