The theme of the 2016 Met Gala was "Manus x Machina: Fashion In An Age Of Technology". As usual, each celeb interpreted that theme in their own unique way. But, once again, Lupita Nyong'o completely stole the show.

“Once again, it’s on!” Last night’s 21st Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards brought out the naturalistas in a big way! Red carpet slayer Lupita Nyong’o and stylist Micaela Erlanger have hit another one outta the park with this GORG-em-OUS Elie Saab gown. Her braided updo more than compliments this bold print and that skin is as radiant as ever! Within no time, fashion illustrator Josefina Fernandez posted this epicness to Instagram… Viola Davis rocked a fro to top off her white halter Max Mara gown and the natural hair enthusiasts were loving it… me included, of course! Might this be a twist-out… braid-out? *shrugs* I pity the fool who STILL says naturally kinky hair can’t be classy! I’ve been trying to think up some profound intro for this post, perhaps some super poetic description of Miss Lupita Nyong’o. Listen, it ain’t happenin’! What is there to say except… This chick bad! Here are four reasons why (in my humble opinion). So, ummm, let’s start with the obvious. {1} The Fashion! I’m gonna be completely honest… I hadn’t the slightest idea who this beauty was before the Golden Globes (nope, didn’t see 12 Years A Slave) but, needless to say, she has had my attention ever since! I think I’m a bit late to join #teamlupita, but I’m okay with that. 😉 Anyways, Lupita Nyong’o = RED CARPET KILLA! Stylist Micaela Erlanger does an amazing job with her event after event. While I didn’t catch E! News’ Golden Globes red carpet coverage from its start, I was confident by its end that I had seen enough to establish my top looks of the night. To be fair, I scanned Twitter, Instagram and all that good stuff for possible toppers but alas, my top three remained. Here they are… 12 Years a Slave actress Lupita Nyong’o hit the red carpet with a gorgeous, floor-length Ralph Lauren number featuring an off-the-shoulder cape. Amazingly classy. She paired the gown with red Paul Andrew shoes to complete the monochromatic look and subtle Fred Leighton jewelry. Oh, and that side-parted blown out TWA is cute too! 😉 What a beauty. Coming in at a verrrryyy close second is Sofia Vergara in a black Zac Posen gown accented by a beautiful turquoise floral statement necklace by Lorraine Schwartz- perfect touch.
