I welcome you… with reluctance. Welp, the thing is, October means Autumn which means Winter isn’t far behind which meeeaaannns… brrrrr! Me no likey cold weather. BUT, in order to get to the lovelinesses that are Spring and Summer, we must get through boots, coats and hot cocoa evenings. I do actually enjoy the boots. 😉 That said, I’m gonna attempt to embark on yet another “blog every day this month” challenge, suggested by my girl Shirley over at This Square Peg, which is aptly named Blogtober. I haven’t been feeling the best these past few weeks but let’s see what I can pump out for you guys. This’ll be yet another opportunity to force myself to get writing and think up new content. I should’ve known better than to think I’d be able to pump out a post per day around the same time that I’d be putting the finishing touches on my event! Hey, ya gotta admit, I was good up until the 5th! 😉 But WOW… the day before the event included so much that writing even a quick blog post was the last thing on my mind: errand-running, responding to email inquiries, sending last-minute reminders, washing my hair and the list goes on! I figured once the event was over things would settle down and I’d be able to have a nice, sound sleep. NOPE! Going to bed at 4 AM Saturday morning (event day!) threw my whole sleep schedule off somethin’ awful for the next few nights! When I DID finally get some sleep, I’d wake up at all kinds of hours… I mean WIDE awake! Guess I was still…
Woooooohooo!! I made it! We made it! Shoutout to Awesomely Luvvie for introducing this challenge and all my #31WriteNow blogger buddies who stuck it out for the whole month of August including Naturally Supreme, Love. Embrace. Inspire., Kitten Heel Marvel, NaturallyMe35, and The HodgePodge Files. Even if you missed a day or two, the effort was definitely evident and for that, I give you props! I truly appreciate the encouragement and the support between us was amazing. ♥♥ Now, I’m not gonna act like this was a walk in the park… a “challenge” it was. Quite a number of articles made it in just before the stroke of midnight or a few hours before but hey, as long as it was “today”, it counted! LOL! As I began this challenge, I gulped in nervousness wondering if I would be able to come up with content interesting or even entertaining enough to fill 31…
It’s 10:27pm and I’m now sitting down to do my post for the day. Well, it’s still today and I’ve done way worse so let’s go! ^_^ I was tagged by my buddies over at Naturally Supreme (ya know, iFro, iLoc, iTwist… yeah, they rock!), who have also joined in the #31WriteNow mayhem fun, to write 20 random facts about me… I’m soooo making this list up as I go along folks! (-_-) I was born in Barbados… …but I can’t swim. I’m watching that new show Deal With It with the hubster… it’s hilarious! I discovered six gray hairs on my head. SIX! O_O My new favorite colors are coral and teal. My fingernails are coral and my toenails are teal. I didn’t learn to drive until I was 21. Is that weird? As I’m scrolling endlessly through my Instagram feed today, I came across a repost by Naturally Supreme via Awesomely Luvvie about this blog challenge… #31WriteNow. So, of course, I head on over to Luvvie’s page and yup, it’s what you think: one post per day for every day in the month of August. One word- YIKES!! O_O Now, my goal since attending the Blogging While Brown conference has been to get out at LEAST three blog posts for you lovely people per week. But SHEESH… 31 days straight?! Welp, while this challenge gave me brief palpitations, I almost immediately reposted said repost with a resounding… reluctant… excitedly nervous “I’m gonna try”. :-/ I think this will definitely help me build my writing skills and keep me on my toes creatively.
