Natural Hair Color Inspo: The Red + Blonde Combo

Summer-Natural-Hair-Color-Main

Scrolling through Instagram recently, I noticed a rising natural hair color trend among a few of my blogger buddies this summer… a stunning patch of blonde on top transitioning into deep red. I absolutely love it! Check out what they’re working with below…

Daphney, known as belle a noirhas been rockin’ this color for some months now and every time I see her with a new style, it just looks even more lush and beautiful! Look at this fro! Don’t you just wanna play in it?! 🙂

To achieve this look, Daph used SheaMoisture Hair Color System in Bright Auburn and good ole bleach for that pop of blonde. Gorgeous!

CharyJay was one in a group of natural hair influencers who tried out Creme of Nature’s Exotic Shine Color over the winter but has maintained the color up until today. Her fabulous combo includes Medium Warm Brown (not quite a red but it’s giving me that flavor) and Ginger Blonde. See her transformation here.

Blogger boo Ijeoma of Klassy Kinks recently revved up her tapered cut this spring with the high-to-low color trend and it looks SO dope! She chronicles the whole process in this detailed video.

Last but not least is pRoy who revamped her funky tapered cut with a Creme of Nature touch-up using Honey Blonde and Red Copper to achieve the look you see here. The cut and shape make the color look even more BOMB! In this video, she takes us behind the scenes of her transformation.

If you ask me, (and sure, I may be a bit biased) while this color combination may look nice on straight hair, I think it looks even better on naturally textured hair! The kinks, curls and coils just seem to make it all POP! Don’tcha think?!

Well, now that you’ve been inspired, I urge you to check out some tips on caring for your color-treated hair before running to your stylist or local beauty supply! This natural hair color trend is nice and all but you don’t wanna sacrifice the health of your hair for it. What good is a nice color if it fades and ruins your hair in the process? So take the necessary steps to take good care of it and you’ll be able to flaunt your color for months… and keep the hair on your head! 😉

What do you think about this color trend? Are you thinking about introducing some color to your natural hair this summer? If so, what color(s) are you thinking of?
