August is upon us but we’ve still got plenty of warm days left before we break out the parkas! A cute “tea length” or midi floral dress is one of those quintessential pieces that’ll carry you through many a summer affair — wedding, brunch, formal dinner, etc. And with a dress, no pairing a top with a bottom necessary… no stress, no time wasted! Mom approved.
There’s nothing like having that one piece you can rely on in the clutch! Since I knew it was gonna be blazing hot on this particular June day AND I wanted to be cute, I quickly broke out
one of my favorite dress es and was not disappointed! And, yes, you’ve seen it before in this post almost a year ago to the date but, c’mon, outdoor photos are just better, no?
Faux pearls – (old) random SoHo boutique but try these | Wood Watch – JORD | Shades – Old Navy (Similar here)
I’m amazed, to say the least, that this dress is still
barely fitting after a whole seven years! To be fair, the area right under the armpits was initially taken in slightly and I’ve recently — post-baby — let it out so I can breathe LOL! But thanks to this A-line, retro silhouette, it still works.
It helps to have coordinating accessories that pretty much take the guesswork out of finding things that match your ensemble exactly. They just have to blend. There’s no stitch of blue in this dress but thanks to the dress’s floral scheme (aka colors all over the place!) and because the accessories match each other, I can get away with this cobalt blue pairing no problem!

Welp, like I said, the dress is super old but I managed to find a couple that come pretty close here and here on Amazon for UNDER $30! Unfortunately, neither have pockets, BUT you can get ’em super fast with Amazon Prime girl! *snaps*

The women of yesteryear (do people actually use this word?!) had it right with these types of dresses. With its gathered waist and flared skirt, just about any woman, no matter her shape, can rock this retro cut and look… womanly! For a bomb skirt that’s just as flattering on anyone as this dress, take a look at THIS post!
What’s YOUR absolute favorite piece of clothing that you can you rely on no matter what?!
