Ok y’all… I’m finally getting this recap together. Don’t kill me! LOL But this post right here is photo-heavy so hopefully that makes up for it. 😉
On April 6th, Nikki (aka Knotti Nikki) and pRoy of Curl X hosted the Spring Repair and Renew Mixer at the beautiful Carol’s Daughter Flagship store in Harlem, NY. This was my very first time visiting the store (I should be ashamed of myself!) and I was in sheer awe- an immaculate space full of wall-to-wall products with fragrances that tickled the senses.
Flagship manager, Saniyyah, greeted us with a warm smile and gift bags full of Carol’s Daughter goodies for both hair and body. Right away I recognized a few curlfriends and got to mingling. Nikki spotted me from the back of the store and came on over to say hi. Until now, we had only seen one another on Instagram so this was a nice treat to finally meet this beauty in person! pRoy also made her way to the front of the store and we chatted… mostly about how gorgeous her outfit was- chick stays on point. Both Nikki and pRoy embodied the Spring theme of the event with fashion that included bright colors, light textures and girly footwear! Lovely.
To my surprise, Carol’s Daughter herself, Lisa Price, made an appearance!
After allowing us to mingle and grab some refreshments for a bit, Saniyyah kicked off the program. Nikki and pRoy discussed their personal beauty insecurities, a topic that had recently been dealt with on their YouTube channel, which sparked a great interchange amongst the attendees.
We were also educated on some of the newer Carol’s Daughter products such as the Monoi line which has been getting rave reviews.
Following the introductions and presentations, we broke up to take in some product info and demos with the help of the Carol’s Daughter staff. We were also able to take a peak at the goings-on of their new Mirror Salon at the rear of the store.
Of course, there was a lot of beautiful hair to be seen…
The evening was full of great conversations, giveaways and product sniffage, LOL! Said sniffage led to my purchasing a bottle of Almond Cookie Bath & Body Oil (pictured in the collage at the outset). Oh-Em-to-the-GEE, that stuff is amazing! *thought bubble* I should do a review… Maaaan, did I have a great time! My sister and I stuck around until things completely wrapped up and it’s a good thing we did- we BOTH won products! BOO-YAH!!! (O_O)
The event had a smooth flow from start to finish. Fabulously organized. Shoutout to Nikki, pRoy, Saniyyah and the Carol’s Daughter staff for an awesome time! Hope to see (and possibly work with) you all soon!
