Living in small city apartment, a tiny bathroom comes with the territory. But limited bathroom space doesn’t mean you have to sacrifice style and comfort.

I gave my tiny Brooklyn bathroom a summer refresh with a minimalist, modern and simple theme thanks to a little trip to Target and Quilted Northern® Mega Rolls. As you check out my before and after shots, lemme give you three tips to keep in mind to make your tiny bathroom feel like a temporary retreat while making the best use of the space you have.

Use Vertical Space

When you’re low on square footage in your lavatory, the best thing to do is go up! Use the walls for storage of your necessities like cotton swabs or hair and beauty tools. Since the toilet takes up a good chunk of space on the floor of the bathroom, the area above it is the perfect place to put some additional storage.

In keeping with my modern and minimalist theme, I grabbed a coordinating shelf from Target to match the one we already had over our toilet to create a more clean look while creating more storage space. This worked out perfectly! I love the results.

More of What You Need, Less of What You Don’t

I’ve had a bad habit of throwing everything I have that matches in a space but clutter only makes a small bathroom feel smaller. I’ve found the best way to solve this problem is to figure out what we really need in the loo on a regular basis and ditch what we don’t need – at least not out in the open.

Decorative bins, like this one I picked up during my Target trip, are so clutch for adding both function and style! Not only do you have a place to house things that may be a bit of an eyesore (like my husband’s hair-cutting kit and a hand mirror), but it helps maintain a clean look while keeping it handy!

Of course, one thing you will ALWAYS need is toilet tissue! During the summer, we tend to have a lot of friends and family passing through. Who wants to constantly change rolls while entertaining guests?! Thankfully, Quilted Northern® Mega Rolls are 4 regular rolls in one so they last super long, giving you one less thing to worry about!

I’m always in Target so I picked up my package of Quilted Northern Mega Rolls in the toilet paper aisle of the Cleaning Supplies section. Right now, you can save 10% off Quilted Northern Mega Toilet Paper with this Cartwheel offer from Target (valid 6/20-7/8). Even though you’ll be changing these rolls less often, keeping a few extra on-hand in a cute holder wouldn’t hurt!

20170626_123340Keep it Light & Simple

While there’s nothing wrong with having some color in your water closet, some of us may go a little overboard. *raises hand* I was ALL about purple but because the room is tiny AND gets very little natural light as it is, the color makes it even darker and feel even more cramped.

Going with a lighter, more airy color scheme changes all that! Keeping to clean, simple lines and clear accessories adds to the airy feeling and helps open things up. Swapping out our purple (GLASS!!) toothbrush holder for this clear option with a silver accent – to match existing items – and the purple shower curtain for a white one (both from Target) made a huge difference!

Those are some great ideas! My bathroom is tiny, but when things are lined up vertically it doesn’t feel as cramped.
