You know the moment when you get a call from one of the homies like, “hey girl! Get dressed. We’re going out!” but you literally JUST finished up your wash day. Yeah… THAT moment! Ugh!
What’s a girl to do?!
This head wrap and faux bang combo is a super-quick way to get yourself cute while allowing your freshly moisturized twists to continue marinating! All you need are:
- 1 ½ to 2 yards of fabric for wrapping
- Marley braiding hair (or hair that matches your texture best)
- bobby pins
Just a couple notes for you:
If the head wrap you’re using happens to be cotton, be sure to first tie on a silk/satin scarf to prevent your hair from losing moisture.
Loosen the braiding hair a bit so that it’s more natural-looking and adds some volume to your faux bang.
Practice makes perfect… or close enough. Many get intimidated by the whole head wrap thing. Don’t let that be you! A lot of these head wrap styles you see are born purely by accident, the product of trial and error. All you’re doing, for the most part, is wrapping to create a shape you’re comfortable with and tucking to hide the ends. Try not to make it more complicated or stressful than it has to be.
Your wrap may not come out exactly like mine… actually, I guarantee that it won’t, but that’s okay. No two people’s wraps will be identical. What often makes a head wrap popping is the beauty of the fabric itself. So don’t worry about perfection. Mine are never “perfect” in the true sense of the word. So, whatever you do, however it comes out, own it! Throw on some earrings, fill in those brows and strut!
P.S. This head wrap style can totally be done without the faux bang. I just thought it was a cute little add-on. Let me know if you try it!
