Out & About: Sweet Chick Brooklyn

Last week, I read an awesome article by Marie of Good Lookn Out on a couple of quaint spots she hit up while here in Brooklyn. She did such great job of hyping up Sweet Chick (not to mention her pics were AMAZING!) that I was super eager to take the hubster to this WIliamsburg chicken and waffle eatery the very next morning!

As we walked in, we were immediately greeted by Benny and asked if we’d prefer a table by the window or a spot in the back area… we chose the window seat. Sweet Chick is by no means a large restaurant but I adored its rustic and homey feel. For me, the vibe was, “come on down, relax and chill”, almost coffee shop-y. The fresh flowers that dressed up each table were a nice touch.

Onto the food! Sooooo GOOD!! The chicken was fresh, piping hot and oh, so tasty. The waffles were light, fluffy, heavenly goodness on a plate served with three different types of butters to suit your taste. To drink, we both tried their hibiscus & cinnamon soda which I thought was quite refreshing. Hubby, on the other hand, didn’t care for it too much (he has very specific taste buds LOL) but Benny was very accommodating and switched out his drink for something else, free of charge- excellent customer service!

Our experience at Sweet Chick was a lovely one. The hubster wouldn’t stop talking about how awesome the chicken was which means we are definitely going back! It’s a great spot to take friends visiting from out of town or just take yourself with laptop in tow and get a little work done while chowing down on some good eats! I thoroughly enjoyed every bite in addition to the ambiance.

Sweet Chick Brooklyn– highly recommended! Head on down and try it for yourself if you’re in town!

Talk to you tomorrow my people!

I just moved back to Brooklyn and can’t WAIT to go here! Thanks for the suggestion, I’ve heard great things about it.

By the way, you should try Pies N’ Thighs. I’ve heard great things about there as well. Oh and Peach’s Hot House in bedstuy.

So glad you tried it and liked it! That chicken is real good and I am a southern woman OK. If you wanna venture up to Harlem for some southern fried chicken check out Charlie’s Chicken. I would get the chicken to go though heats up nice 🙂
