Well, happy Friday y’all? Did everyone have a good week? I sure hope so.
This Friday’s post features a vintage find… a route I don’t normally take but I gotta
blame thank my girl Cadian, aka The Lone Natural, for this one! Her Fashion Find Friday posts just about have me salivating and wishing I had a money tree. After reading through this post back in March (and, ahem, purchasing the Find without hesitation), I proceeded to peruse the Etsy shop from which it came, NorthStarrVintage. This Neck Tie Floral White Vintage 80’s Retro Button Down Blouse, also known by some as a secretary blouse, was calling my name… and for the low low price of $8??!! (O_O) Where do I sign?!
I received my *cough* THREE items (c’mon, can ya blame me?!) in about a week, maybe less. The packaging was done with such care. I’ve said it once and I’ll say it again: presentation is everything! See what I’m talmbout…?
Welp, everything fit great and I gave ’em a good washing to await an opportunity for wearage (I make up words, you’ll have to excuse me ). A perfect chance arose when preparing to attend the Spring Hair Affair last month at Khamit Kinks Salon in Brooklyn with the beautiful ladies of Natural Hair Does Care. I wanted to be simple and yet express my sense of style while being comfortable. Here’s what I did…
Ummmmmm, a few awkward selfies for your viewing… pleasure (?).
In hindsight, I think some flared or wide-leg jeans would’ve really given this look the full retro effect, what with the large blown-out fro I had goin’ on and all. Dah well, I know for next time. 😉 Gonna work on a “Get The Look” post so you dahlings can find out where to buy and recreate this look with a Spring/Summer twist. Who loves ya?! *air kisses*
